You are invited – The South African Node of the Millennium Project (www.sampnode.org) – part of a global futures think tank -- is presenting a two-day scanning workshop where you will learn:

• how to systematically approach the unfolding future,
• identify the driving forces (trends) shaping the future,
• what horizon scanning is and how to implement it (the methods and practicalities of scanning), and
• why we often miss essential information, and the future.

APF's 10th anniversary book The Future of Futures

In The Future of Futures, a distinguished collection of futurists – all APF members – look at the past, present, and future state of futures practise. Contributors include Wendy Schultz, on the brief history of futures, Andrew Curry on scenarios methods, Noah Raford on crowdsourced & design futures, Richard Slaughter on integral futures, and Riel Miller on futures as a discipline. Other contributions are on the future of the city, Africa’s futures, and the rise, and limits, of crowd-sourcing as a futures practice.

South African Node of the millennium project's new website launched

We are pleased to announce that the new SA Node's website is finally up and running. All the hard work and dedication of our web development team has finally paid off to present you with the website, which you can view here. It features a cleaner and simpler look and feel and we hope it represents the information you look for in an easier to use way. There is still additional functionality that we would like to add over the next 6 months, such as an expanded members’ area and an online shop that boasts a lot more material, as well as greater back-end integration. We will keep you posted, but in the meantime, please have a look and send us your comments.
