This document is the final output of the Cooperation Framework on Innovation Systems between Finland and South Africa (COFISA) study ‘Mapping triple helix innovation networks in the Western Cape’. The purpose of this project is to understand innovation networks between academia, industry and government in the Western Cape, i.e. triple helix networks. An appropriate definition of innovation in this context is “doing new things or doing things in a new way, drawing on knowledge and creativity to add value in products and processes”
