Donor spotlight

Financial support for the pilot phase of the Foresight for Development initiative was provided by a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation. Established in 1913 by John D Rockefeller Sr, the foundation's mission is to promote the well-being of humanity around the world.

Foundation and corporate sponsors

Foresight for Development wants to offer a wider variety of services and products to users of its website, and foundation and corporate sponsorship can help us deliver these to as many Africans as possible.

Specific support

Right now, we're looking for support for these specific activities:

• Beyond English: Foresight for Development wants to deliver its content in languages other than English. We're looking for sponsors to support our efforts to make our portal site available to foresight community members who speak Arabic, KiSwahili, Portuguese or French.
• Pan-African harvest: Content on the Foresight for Development portal is harvested by part-time researchers scanning literature in foresight, futures studies and related fields produced across the continent. We'd like to broaden our reach by bringing on board additional capacity that reflects the diversity of the continent, and can secure publications from Francophone, Lusophone and Arabophone African sources.
• Foresight internship: We plan to offer an internship programme for young African researchers wanting to work in the foresight and futures studies area, and, with support for this capacity-building activity from sponsors, we will.
