The Bank Group is developing a new Urban Strategy to enhance the effectiveness of its interventions in the urban sectors of its regional member countries (RMCs). This Strategy will seek to boost the viability and competitiveness of African cities to ensure that they perform their role as real engines of economic growth and social development. The proposed Urban Development Strategy will be anchored on three pillars aligned with the Bank Group‘s strategic orientations and core areas of intervention, including: infrastructure delivery, governance and private sector development
