Kibera is possibly one of the harshest realities of human existence, with problems like open defecation areas, the forcible removal of students from their schools, and the daily struggle to find sustenance. It’s estimated that 54% of Kenyans will be living in urban areas by 2025, which means that there needs to be a concerted effort to improve the future quality of life of residents in the slum (Trond¬sen). If there is a solution to the many problems of Kibera, one must first analyze the present realities. This paper will interpret these realities using the diagram of voronoi tesselation to quantify and unearth relationships that will further empower the people of Kibera and inform a new approach to slum improvement.
