Report on West Africa Transport and Communications discussin questions such as “How will the demand for communication infrastructures evolve in terms of volume?” - In the ensuing decades, the West African population will grow significantly and become more urban than at the beginning of the 21st century. Like today, the majority of the population will be young. West African leaders must anticipate a sharp increase in the need for transport and communications infrastructure. However, this increase in demand will be much greater than demographic growth, because the more a society urbanises and trades, the greater the need for infrastructure.
